This seminar, presented by the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service focuses on common presentations and complications in the antenatal, puerperium and postnatal period.

The Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service recognises the value of collaborative, holistic shared maternity care, combining the varied skills of midwives, general practitioners and obstetricians to the benefit of patients and the community. This workshop will meet the needs of general practitioners participating in shared antenatal care; however, all general practitioners are welcome to attend.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Review the new VEMTops Service including the inclusion criteria and referrals pathway.
  • Describe current guidelines in pregnancy for women who are rhesus negative.
  • Assess current data and recommendations regarding mode and timing of delivery.
  • Review the implementation of the SCHHS home birth service including the inclusion criteria.
  • Assess new vaccination recommendations for pregnant women and their babies against RSV.
  • Identify contraception options in the postnatal period.

This is an RACGP-approved CPD activity under the RACGP Program.
