What we do

Country to Coast Queensland (CCQ) works across Central Queensland, Wide Bay and the Sunshine Coast to strengthen primary care and improve health and wellbeing across our region.

We do this by backing the people and services that keep communities well, supporting access to the right care at the right time and helping the health system work better together.

We invest in solutions that deliver impact

Commissioning is how we deliver impact. We use local insight and evidence to set priorities, invest in the right solutions and support delivery. We also advocate for the system changes that shape health beyond healthcare, with a focus on prevention, early intervention, better connections between services and place-based approaches that reflect what matters most to communities.

We work with communities to improve access and equity

Good health is shaped by more than healthcare. We work with communities and partners to design solutions that make it easier to find the right support, especially for people facing barriers.

We support the local primary care workforce

General practice is a front door to routine health care for many people. We help practices and health professionals build capability, improve quality and adopt approaches that deliver better outcomes and experiences for patients, providers and the health system.

We are reforming the mental health, alcohol and other drugs local service system

We bring local services together to make it easier for people to get the right mental health, alcohol and other drug support at the right time. We strengthen pathways and partnerships across the region so care is clearer, more connected and works better for everyone.

We partner with the aged care sector

Older people deserve care that is safe, connected and responsive, whether that is in the community or in residential aged care. We work with providers to strengthen models of care, improve clinical support and lift coordination across services.
