The highly successful eConsultant program has been funded by the LNP government to expand statewide.
The eConsultant service is available for 8 specialties with a mean response time of 1.8 days for requests for advice and no catchment limits. Face-to-face outpatient appointments are avoided in 77% of cases and GP surveys indicate a change to patient care in 66% of cases.
Request for advice are auto-populated from Best Practice and Medical Director with access via a portal for those with other practice software.
GP program lead Prof Claire Jackson, Qld eConsultant endocrinologist Emeritus Prof David McIntyre, and GPs Dr Tim O’Brien and Dr Karen Love will discuss the service and eConsultant case studies.
