Emergency Preparedness for People with Intellectual Disabilities

Contract Details

Part of the Resilient CARE Program 2025 grants.

The Emergency Planning with People with Intellectual Disability (EPPID) project works alongside people with an intellectual disability and primary healthcare partners to co-produce Easy Read tools and resources for emergency health planning.

These resources will be distributed and embedded across primary healthcare, disability, social care, and community care providers, improving their ability to support people with an intellectual disability to stay healthy and well before, during, and after emergencies.

Implementation will take place through workshops, information campaigns, and targeted information sessions.

Currently, no such tailored resources exist, making this project an important step toward inclusive and accessible emergency preparedness.
