Resilient CARE project

Contract Details

Country to Coast Queensland’s $3.8 million Resilient Care funding was announced in November 2024, in partnership with Australian Business Volunteers funded by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) through the Disaster Ready Fund. The program aims reduce the negative health impacts of both natural disasters and a changing climate in five local government areas across Wide Bay and Central Queensland.

People in the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, and Livingstone LGAs are experiencing a rising frequency and severity of natural disasters, posing significant challenges to their health and well-being. Partners in these regions have acknowledged the untapped potential of primary care providers and the communities themselves in addressing these challenges. Their interest in collaborating with CCQ, ABV, and other stakeholders demonstrates a shared commitment to leveraging collective expertise and resources and working together to enhance health, wellbeing and disaster resilience within these communities.
