people experiencing homelessness
People experiencing homelessness face significant challenges to health and wellbeing — from limited access to healthcare to the daily impacts of housing insecurity. Yet many also show remarkable resilience, resourcefulness and community connection. CCQ works with health providers, housing and social services to remove barriers to care, strengthen referral pathways and support integrated responses. Our aim is to ensure people experiencing homelessness are seen, respected and able to access the healthcare they need.
Health and housing are fundamental human rights, yet it is nearly impossible to achieve one without the other. People experiencing homelessness face significantly poorer health outcomes than the general population and are disproportionately represented in Emergency Department visits.
The CCQ ZERO Homeless Health Initiative is a transformative initiative designed to address this challenge. As part of a national movement to end homelessness in Australia, it applies the proven Advance to Zero methodology to drive systems change and improve health outcomes.
