Governance
Country to Coast Queensland is your local Primary Health Network (PHN). As an independent not-for-profit organisation, we bring together people, services and communities across Central Queensland, Wide Bay and the Sunshine Coast to improve health and wellbeing. Every decision we make is guided by local needs and the goal of creating fairer, healthier communities.
Our legal and organisational structure
We’re structured to stay independent, transparent and accountable to the communities we serve. Legally, CCQ is the trading name of Sunshine Coast Health Network Ltd, a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). We’re governed by a Board of Directors elected by our member organisations and guided by our Constitution. Each year, we hold an Annual General Meeting to report back and keep our community informed.
board advisory groups
Our Board is advised by three standing groups that bring clinical expertise, community voice and First Nations leadership into our decisions. Together they help ensure our work is grounded in local needs and lived experience.
- Clinical Advisory Council — clinicians from across the system who advise on models of care, integration and quality
- Community Advisory Council — people with diverse lived experience who keep community priorities at the centre
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnership — a leadership forum that guides priorities and practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
Good governance helps us focus on what matters: strengthening primary healthcare, improving access for those who need it most, supporting local providers with data and innovation and contributing to a healthier, fairer future.
