Raising community awareness of Medicare Mental Health

A national PHN-led consumer campaign is running over summer to raise awareness of the Medicare Mental Health phone service (1800 595 212). The service provides free, confidential guidance to help people take the next step and connect with the right mental health care.

Health services across our region can also download and use the digital communications kit across their own channels to help share consistent messaging.

The service is available to anyone, including family members and carers, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (excluding public holidays).

Medicare Mental Health is not a crisis service. If you or someone you are with needs urgent help, call Lifeline 13 11 14. If there is immediate danger, call Triple Zero (000).

Anyone can self refer. GPs can also refer patients via the web or smartform.
