To support vulnerable residents in the Gympie region after rising water impacts from a tropical low, Country to Coast Queensland and the Gympie Human Social Recovery Group have collaborated to establish a mobile health response.
The primary care service works alongside local providers to deliver outreach and connection to residents experiencing homelessness or displacement. It is operating two days a week from 22 April 2026 to 4 June 2026 inclusive.
Thanks to funding from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, CCQ’s Mobile Health Service builds on the success of the early response provided in Rockhampton in January 2026 and Bundaberg in March 2026.
The free service provides walk-up care, including essential healthcare, medications, wellbeing and connection with ongoing services, helping ensure no one is left behind in community disaster recovery.
Thank you to our partners
CCQ is delivering this service through strong local collaboration with 1300MEDICS, Sunshine Coast Zero, IFYS, Better Connect, Gympie Women’s Health and other community organisations supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Building on Sunshine Coast Zero
This work also builds on CCQ’s delivery of Sunshine Coast Zero in partnership with IFYS, localising the national Advance to Zero initiative.
