Fuel pressures: supporting regional preparedness

Country to Coast Queensland is taking a practical, region-focused approach to the current fuel pressures affecting Australia.

While the Australian Government has advised that the national fuel outlook remains secure in the near term, it has also moved the country to Level 2, “Keeping Australia moving”, under the National Fuel Security Plan and introduced additional measures to support supply and reduce pressure on households and businesses.

For our region, this is a timely reminder to help people stay connected to care and to support health services to plan ahead where needed.

Country to Coast Queensland is:

  • supporting community members to check with their regular GP and care teams about telehealth options, medicines and backup plans
  • supporting commissioned providers and broader primary healthcare services to identify emerging service impacts
  • sharing regional intelligence with the Australian Government to support response planning
