Associate Professor Shalini Arunogiri is a clinical addiction psychiatrist and Clinical Director at Turning Point and Hamilton Centre, Victoria’s statewide centre for integrated care of co-occurring addiction and mental illness. Shalini is also an Associate Professor and NHMRC Emerging Leader Fellow at Monash University, with an investigator grant focusing on treatment of trauma and addiction. Dr Shalini’s work focuses on developing new interventions for addiction, including the use of psychedelic-assisted therapies. Shalini is also an executive member of the World Association for Dual Disorders, board director for the Foundation for Alcohol Research Treatment and Education (FARE), and immediate past-chair of the RANZCP Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry.

By the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

Understand the current evidence base for the use of MDMA and psilocybin in addiction and related mental health problems

Understand key evidence gaps in existing evidence in psychedelic assisted therapies

Identify and critically appraise challenges with implementation of psychedelic assisted therapies in Australia
