MyMedicare recognises general practices as the best place to provide care that is patient- and community-centred. General practices can register as a MyMedicare practice and patients can register a MyMedicare general practice as their regular or ‘home’ practice.
When a general practice and its patients register in MyMedicare, the Australian Government provides extra funding to help the practice provide targeted care based on patient needs.
Benefits of MyMedicare
- Patients can access longer MBS-funded telehealth consults (Levels C and D) for more in-depth conversations (over 20 mins) with their regular GP at their home practice.
- Triple bulk-billing incentive for longer MBS telehealth consultations (Levels C, D and E) for children under 16, pensioners, and concession card holders.
- Support for more regular visits GP services and better care planning for patients in aged care through the General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GPACI).
