Oral Health Assessment and Management in Primary Care - a webinar for general practitioners

This webinar presented by the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service dental team will review common dental diseases, management of dental presentations to general practice and dental management of specific medical conditions and medications.

Learning Outcomes:

• Describe basic dental anatomy and nomenclature
• Discuss dental care/management of medical conditions, chronic disease (e.g. diabetes), polypharmacy, smoking and recreational drugs
• Describe the management options available in general practice for common oral presentations (including emergencies), interactions with certain medications (eg anti-resorptives and blood thinners) and when/where to refer
• Review public and private dental care pathways in Queensland and barriers to accessing dental care.
