Register with Primary Sense for real-time decision support for General Practice

Primary Sense is now in full swing, with an impressive 80 general practices already registered across the Central Queensland, Wide Bay, and Sunshine Coast regions. This significant milestone marks a positive step toward enhancing the quality of patient care in our community.

Designed to support clinical decision making at the point of care, facilitate population health management, and streamline data extraction, Primary Sense offers a confidential and secure platform for analysing and managing general practice data. Key features include:

  • A point-of-care clinical decision support tool for general practitioners
  • Evidence-based identification of at-risk patients in real-time
  • Near real-time extraction, analysis, and secure management of de-identified practice data
  • Confidential and secure data handling
  • Embedded and automated prompts for patient risk assessment, quality improvement, and care planning.

Enhance your MyMedicare registration process with Primary Sense

Primary Sense swiftly identifies ‘at risk’ patients eligible for MyMedicare registration, streamlining your efforts without adding complexity. If you’re a current Primary Sense user, you can access the Voluntary Patient Registration Report from your Primary Sense Desktop. 

Guide to registration for MyMedicare  

  1. Confirm eligibility: Ensure your practice is eligible for MyMedicare. 
  2. Set up in PRODA: Create your organisation in PRODA and link it to HPOS. 
  3. Organisation registration in HPOS: Create your organisation and site records and link your eligible providers. 
  4. Add MyMedicare Program Code: As of 1 October 2023, include the MyMedicare program code in your Organisation Register. 
  5. Start patient registration: Begin the process of registering your patients for MyMedicare. 

Training and support for MyMedicare: 

  • Services Australia offers e-learning modules to support each step of the registration process for MyMedicare. We recommend utilising these resources to streamline your registration processes. 
  • The Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM) has partnered with the Department of Health and Aged Care to assist with the implementation of MyMedicare. Practices can contact AAPM National Office on 1800 196 000 or via email nationaloffice@aapm.org.au for support.
