Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) provide short-term care for conditions that require same-day treatment, but are not immediately life-threatening.
Treatment at Medicare UCCs is bulk-billed. Patients must present a valid Medicare card to use the service.

Medicare UCCs can treat minor illnesses and injuries including:
Minor infections
Minor fractures, sprains, sports injuries and neck and back pain
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Stitches and glue for minor cuts
Insect bites and rashes
Minor eye and ear problems
Respiratory illness
Gastroenteritis
Mild burns
Medicare UCCs can provide:
- wound management (glueing, suturing and dressings)
- incision and drainage of abscesses
- basic fracture management
- intravenous cannula insertion (IV antibiotics and IV rehydration fluids)
- urinary catheter management and changes
- removal of foreign bodies from ears and nose
When to call Triple ZERO
Medicare UCCs won’t be able to see people for major trauma or complex conditions.
