Last week our region celebrated a number of “Dying to Know Day” events to activate conversations and curiosity, build death literacy and help grow the capacity of individuals and community groups to take action toward end of life planning. These events included a Palliative Care Qld film night and a evening of Ignite Talks.
Dying to Know Day marks an ideal time to start a conversation about Advanced Care Planning (ACP), a process of planning for future health and personal care. ACP allows an individual’s values, beliefs and preferences to be made known so they can guide decision-making at a future time when the person cannot make or communicate their decisions.
