Communicating with Clarity – GP Media and Communications Training
Presented by CCQ with Rowland Communications

Health professionals are regularly approached by the media to comment on public health issues – from healthy lifestyle recommendations to outbreaks of infectious disease.

In order to communicate effectively during a media interview, health professionals must be able to identify and share those messages that will have the greatest impact, and deliver them in a confident, credible manner, whether on screen, on the air or in print.

This three-hour session has been developed specifically for GPs and is designed to provide clear, hands-on training, targeting the issues of most relevance to GPs.

The session will provide an introduction to interacting with the media; strategies to communicate with impact; interview techniques, tips and pitfalls; concluding with a practical “on-camera” simulated interview scenario.

Not only will GPs build the skills and confidence to effectively communicate public health messaging in a media context, the learnings will be applicable in everyday practice, strengthening doctor-patient relationships.

Expressions of interest are now being accepted for Wide Bay GPs to participate in training in 2018.
