Emergency Department clinical notes disabled in The Viewer

In Central Queensland, Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay by PHN Communications

An Issue has been identified with Clinical Notes received from the Emergency Department Information System (EDIS). This problem could potentially result in inaccurate information being displayed in The Viewer through the Health Provider Portal (HPP). For now, all emergency department clinical notes (historical, present and future) have been disabled in The Viewer and will not be visible.

What has changed?

When clicking on Clinical Notes in The Viewer from the Health Provider Portal, a notification will appear advising that “notes have been disabled in The Viewer and to view the notes in the Source System (EDIS)”

How can I get the information?

For now, General Practitioners are requested to contact the hospital directly if they wish to gain any further information on their patient’s emergency presentation.
