Supporting GP Wellbeing – Protecting Against Work Related Psychosocial Hazards a GP only event.

About this event

Working as a GP in communities impacted by a pandemic or any other type of disaster can be personally and professionally challenging. The World Health Organsiation (WHO, 2020) declared that the wellbeing of medical health care providers is important for effectively responding to disasters.

This presentation will examine occupational psychosocial hazards (ie compassion fatigue, traumatic related stress and burnout) and identify the warning signs of being affected by such. The ways in which you and your team can protect against the negative impacts of these hazards will be explored and avenues for seeking support will be  outline. This event aims to support he ongoing psychological resilience of the GP community in the context of managing and preparing for disasters.
