Provider Connect Australia (PCA) is operated by the Australian Digital Health Agency. It connects healthcare organisations with their business partners to streamline updates of the services they provide and the practitioners providing them.

The benefits to patients include:

  • Secure referrals
  • Appointment booking
  • Centralised, connected care for patients – all care touch-points in one place i.e. pharmacist, dentist, doctors etc.

How does it work? Watch this short video:

The free initiative is a single place to update your business information that reduces information duplication and streamlines notifications. Once you have registered, your data can then be shared with your business partners such as government bodies, funders, health service directories, communications services, and other key partners in healthcare service delivery.

The majority of healthcare providers currently signed up with Provider Connect Australia™ are from general practice and community pharmacy. This reflects the initial focus of the rollout (March-June 2023) which was intended to support vaccine providers during the winter season.

The Agency is now focusing on digitally connecting the entire health sector and increasing the number of business partners with whom this information can be shared with. Just recently, the Australian Podiatry Association became a business partner. They are the first allied health group to come on board with Provider Connect Australia™.

In the coming months, we anticipate more and more healthcare organisations to join as we continue extending the connection to government programs, pathology and radiology services, hospital networks, health service directories, secure messaging providers, insurers and more.
