Event Details

National Palliative Care Week (NPCW), held from 22 – 28 May 2022, is Australia’s largest annual awareness raising initiative held increase understanding of the many benefits of palliative care.

We are pleased to announce the theme for National Palliative Care Week 2022 is It’s your right. The theme seeks to raise awareness about the rights of all Australians to access high quality palliative care when and where they need it. Anyone with a life-limiting illness has the right to live as well as possible, for as long as possible.

From Sunday 22 – Saturday 28 May 2022, virtual and face-to-face events will be held across the country to acknowledge and celebrate the commitment and dedication of all those working and volunteering in the palliative care sector across Australia.

Now in its 27th year, NPCW is organised by Palliative Care Australia and supported by the Australian Government Department of Health.

We look forward to having more conversations in the community during NPCW about the benefits of quality palliative care.

More details of our 2022 National Palliative Care Week events and campaign resources will be published soon on our campaign page.
