Central Queensland Rural Health are pleased to present; Rohie Marshall – Care Navigator & Health Promotions Lead EDQ and Dr Warren WARD, Director QuEDS in an engaging and interactive professional development session discussing ‘Eating Disorders in primary care’

This workshop has been designed to assist GP’s and other health professionals to expand the understanding of early diagnostic and management stratefies for patients presenting with signs and symptoms of eating disorders. The learning activities will be delivered to provide key content to GP’s and allied health teams and how this content can be applied to general practice for patients with Eating Disorders.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Identify the risk factors, clinical features, prevalance and impact and the clinical features of an eating disorder
  • Explain and describe the spectrum of disorderd earting behaviours and their consequences
  • Be able to screen, assess and make a prelimiary diagnosies of an eating disorder
  • Understand the role of the GP in medical and nutritional monitoring and treatment of an eating disorder
  • Identify treatment options available in the local community and via telehealth
