Fracture Management, Splinting and Casting

Event description: This course covers the essentials of managing fractures in primary care. Key areas include: Online component: Emergency management – initial mobilisation, analgesia, managing shock Primary care –assessment & treatment plan Investigations – xray, ultrasound, CT & MRI Diagnosis, management and referral Splinting, casting, immobilisation, problems/complications Post cast application management. A one day practical workshop involving splinting and casting application and practice using POP and synthetic casting materials.
