Event Details

The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is a proven parenting intervention for preventing and treating mental health conditions of children and young people (0 to 16 years), now available online. Thanks to State Government funding, Triple P online is universally available, at no cost to parents, in Queensland and Victoria. For other jurisdictions, a user-pays model applies.

The Online program can be used in a targeted manner, as a first line treatment or early intervention for families with children experiencing mental ill health including ADHD, conduct disorder and anxiety concerns. Where the program is available universally, PHNs can readily and rapidly integrate its delivery within their stepped care service model and provide a low intensity but proven intervention to support the mental health of children.

This presentation will provide practitioners working with parents with an overview of Triple P’s online programs for families with children aged 0 to 16 years and a live walk-through of the relevant programs.  Practitioners will get ideas about how to refer parents to Triple P online so parents can complete the program independently.  Also, practitioners will get ideas about how they can support parents who are completing the program.  Key issues in delivering informal parent support and/or targeted clinical support will be discussed.  Participants will have opportunities to ask questions and share ideas.
