This instalment of the Rural Health Webinar Series will explore practical tools and techniques that rural GPs can use to appropriately assess and manage toxicological emergencies. Participants will learn about the key considerations involved in risk assessment, how to recognise and anticipate life threatening consequences resulting from poisoning, how to readily access information to assist with the management of toxicological emergencies, and how to implement a structured approach to the management of toxicological emergencies.

This webinar will be facilitated by Dr Geoff Couser, an emergency physician at the Royal Hobart Hospital who has interests in medical education and low value care. Dr Couser developed emergency medicine as a discipline at the University of Tasmania and is the clinical lead for Choosing Wisely for the Tasmanian Health Service.
